Does anyone pay less than £200 a year for their Chimaera? As I've just had a quote for just over 200... Seems pretty palatable to me. Or is it not unheard of to be insured for less than 200 for a TVR...?

£200 sounds good but all depends on your risk

Mine is £311 = 31 yo professional, rural location, no points or claims. 3000 annual mileage and garaged.

Hi, try Mannings, i found very competitive at £290 for 41 year old, garaged no points etc, and that includes organised track days and 5000 miles

£236 for everything you mentioned. Plus Euro cover/legal, etc.

Seems pretty good quote on the face of it. This was for a 4ltr btw.

I pay over £600 frown with Be Wiser and was quoted a lot more by specialist brokers.

36yrs old, garaged, 4K miles, 8yrs NCB but I do have a few claims (no fault ones but probably still ups the premium)

Same age, garaged, no points, mileage, track days etc. and all mods declared. £283 with Mannings - they are by far the best I've ever dealt with.

To me that sounds a bit high at £600. As i said before try mannings as were easy to talk to and specialise in tvr and lotus. Also believe that they are the only firm that provide track day cover in the policy including the "ring" as long its with tvrcc or organised/official event. Also europe, legal etc etc.

R&H i only pay £330 with all the mods ..With a classic insurance policy you don`t use up your no claims bonus !

I think it depends on the age as to whether they will insure as a classic.
Just renewed with Mannings at just under £300 for a 98 4.0 Chimaera. Tried all the ones recommended by TVR club and the cheapest was over £400 and some were over £600!!
Two said to try again next year as the car would be 15yrs old then.
This is for a 55yr old no points no claims garaged and 5000 miles PA

I pay about £400. I'm 39, 11 years' NCB, no points or claims. 8,000 miles, kept on the driveway but not garaged, Surrey town. Business use, so I can drive to other offices if I need to. This is part of an Admiral multicar policy. I could probably do better, but I don't want to limit mileage any further - I reckon that increases the premium quite a bit.

Problem with R&H ,they dot`t do trackday insurance . What i do like about R&H if you decide to lay up they will pay you in full pro rata.

Mannings chucked me £45 back ,very disappointed ,R&H gave me £130 back ..

All depends on whether you have been able to accrue no claims whilst insuring with a classic policy (as well as the usual insurance 'risk' factors). Mine is less than £400 now. Performance direct and Adrian Flux seem the cheapest for me this year. Also, I didn't realise how much more opting for occasional commutes to work can add - about £60! Social, domestic and pleasure only for me now.

Mannings again, Chim 500, £305, 46 yrs old, £18k agreed val, 3k miles, classic pol, no commute, garaged, usual trackday cover. I think the agreed value spikes up the premium in my case.
