Leven Wash Wipe System
Discussion
I've just bought the Leven system as per the title including new wiper arms as the old ones were looking a bit tatty. In the instructions it tells you to join the rubber tube from the washer jet onto some of the old plastic tube, which you put through the arm spring, and then join another piece of rubber tube on the other end of the plastic tube which then goes to the connector on the grill/bodywork.
Has anyone who has bought this system bypassed all the joining and managed to get the rubber tube down the spring and if they managed it did it work OK.

I have the same system ,works well but a friend of mine who is a Chimaera owner fitted these and work a treat ,he glued his in ..Can adjust the jet

Thanks. I needed both new wipers and arms so the Leven system was good for me. What I really want to know is if anyone has managed to to get the rubber tube (show on the photo below) down through the spring and if it worked OK afterwards? The Leven instructions are to cut the rubber tube and join it onto a thinner plastic tube which goes through the spring. If I can get away without cutting and joining it seems a better solution. Or maybe not! :-)http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/350581779849?ltyp=A...

False economy these Ebay wipers. They don't follow for the curve of the windscreen and you get an un-wiped patch right in your line of sight. I've just ordered a Leven set to replace them.swanny71 said:

I have these on mine and in fairness they follow the screen perfectly, I took a chance when ordering them and was a bit worried when they arrived but the jets are good and they clear the screen perfect on mine but maybe other people have had different experiences.
As ever each TVR has it's own unique features, mine probably has bent wiper arms or a dodgy windscreen. I'll try the Leven set anyway because I know they worked well on my Griff and no matter how much I fiddle with this Ebay set on my Chim I can't get them to wipe properly.@Tinker - I'm pretty sure when I fitted the Leven wipers on the Griff I ran the rubber through the spring - some fairy liquid might help get it through.

Thanks swanny71. I'd just decided on your suggestion before I read your message. As you say fairy liquid works a treat! Excluding carriage the eBay set for wipers only, is about 60p cheaper than the Leven ones. What puts the price up is the arms which I needed anyway. Apart from which I prefer where possible to support a business like Leven who support the TVR community rather than someone on eBay. @Tinker - I'm pretty sure when I fitted the Leven wipers on the Griff I ran the rubber through the spring - some fairy liquid might help get it through.
Are the blades still a standard 'loop' type fitment? I like Leven's washer integration - much more robust than TVR's solution - but for the blades wouldn't want to regress from the flatblade wipers I have now (that, and it's quite handy to be able to buy wear parts like these off-the-shelf from your local motor factor instead of having to order bespoke ones from the UK)...

I've just finished fitting the Leven wipers. As you can see from the photo below they look neat and they work better than the original loop wipers fitted.SILICONEKID340HP said:

Erm - where did he fit them? In the bonnet? If you're going to fit something like that then at least fit the more modern "spray" pattern ones that would actually cover the windscreen in water rather than a couple of piddly streams.http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/350581779849?ltyp=A...
