I had a Chimaera 10 years ago and would have another one tomorrow as the one I had was a great all-round car ...

Flicking through the classis on here as you do and unearthed this beauty. Price seems decent given the mileage and service history. ONly a 4.0 I know but I found my 4.0 more than adequate!

Don't suppose anyone knows the car - difficult without a reg no. I know but someone might know. Five owners seems a lot but hey.

Would have to be in very good nick, and would want a car that had the outriggers replaced for that price. Not too keen on the colour either.
Buyers market at this time of the year, so a little overpriced. All just I.M.O of course.

I wouldn't say that is over priced. Also if the outriggers have been looked after then they wouldn't need changing.

Theses are an appreciating classic now!

looks tidy enough. colour makes a change from the usual green with magnolia interior..

miles very low... Have a good poke around the out riggers, I'f want to get it up on a ramp.

98's do seem to have the worst reputation for chassis, but with only 34k miles on it it may never have seen rain !!!

The seller is a former Tvr specialist in burton on Trent that went out of business earlier this year, so he should know his tvrs! Nice colour combo IMO, but probably at the higher end of the price range depending on after sales support! Thre are plenty of others about with higher specs for not much more, but certainly worth a look if your in the market. Close to me if you are intrested and want an owners opinion.

I love the colour combo - wouldn't be as keen if it were silver with a black interior and that dash is lick

My old N reg one had full green leather and looked great even at 7/8 years old, so they do wear pretty well. Low mileage and full history - bet it's not PAS though - weed that I am ... I probably would want that is hindsight ... this one has it - it's a lovely motor as well ... and heated seats as well - definitely needed on a Chim, the image it has compared to the Griff!

Looks brilliant.
Best colour (but then I too have an ice blue '98 450).
If it is immaculate, all the right paperwork and the outriggers are solid then why not. I'd try and haggle him down a bit though.

And my '98 outriggers are still original and solid based on an endoscopic examination!

Anyone care to give me a brief rundown on why 98 chassis' are the worst - was it just thin powder coating of the frame that was to blame?

Some are white aren't they - is that a particular year or something? I could do a search but I'd be here for hours - can someone sum it up in a paragraph or two?

I know the outriggers are susceptible (at the front moreso I believe) - what are the back ones like generally?

Any other things to look out for - ten years since my last one and I've forgotten - any really bad no-nos - is PAS really worth it?

Ours is Titanium also though she always looks silver in photographs, not in the flesh. I did some research into the paint code ready for a front end respray after Christmas and it was a Jaguar paint, most unusual on a Chim.
