The 'happier days now it's winter Chimaera picture thread'
Discussion
Or, er, something
So, now that we're heading into deepest darkest winter I thought we could all cheer ourselves up by posting piccies of our P&J's back when the weather was what we like it to be, and admire each others motors in the process
God knows it's the depressing season and many have put the beasties away for the winter
So, to kick it off, here's mine earlier in the year in a nearby forest setting
Look forward to seeing yours
Chilli.

Happier days indeed, I can often be caught daydreaming of happier times.........
I have to say, the sooner this year is done the better. The days will be getting longer soon and roll on next summer.
One of the best things I did in my Chim this year, at least after I had some instruction! All I can say is that Castle Combe is a bit harder, or more intimidating, for the novice than Snetterton!

Mine's a video clip, shot by a random passenger who hitched a lift on the hottest day of the year

Here's a suggestion to cheer you up. Get the car out of the garage and drive it !
There are lovely days in the Winter too you know.
I don't understand this putting it away for Winter thing. They are pertty hardy really. The body 'aint going to rust is it and the chassis can be protected and repaired if necessary.
USE IT! That's what you bouught it for.
Drove mine in this morning roof off. Yeah it's a bit muddy but it can be cleaned. They run better for regular use too. What you save in not having to repair / protect your chassis, you probably end up paying in gaskets, battery conditioners, enginer repairs etc due to lack of use
DRIVE IT DRIVE IT !

Beware of the Tick virus in Thetford Forest. Could be fatal unless you get the Chim to the vet in time lol. A nice pic. Eddie.

I agree, I hadn't driven my chim for over a week and even though been on charge, it as we say in Barnsley " had the monk on!" I.e chugging, uneven idle, popped a HT lead off etc. I have now taken the hint . Sort of sunny in Leeds today so brought her to work... plus cheers mr up as I always try and park next to the guy in the Prius! There are lovely days in the Winter too you know.

2012 has been a great year, my Chimaera has done me proud.
A 1000 mile round trip to Le Mans with the boys for the Classic.

Followed a few weeks later by a run to Switzerland to play in the mountains.

Followed by a spot of lunch in Italy.

Followed by some fun in the South of France.

Then off to see my mate in Carcassonne for Cassoulet & Go-carting.

Heading home via the beautiful La Flotte on Ile de Re.

Just 3,000 miles in two weeks for this trip.

A quick oil change & we're off to the Revival.

Followed by a run around Brooklands after the London tunnels.

And finally yesterday's fun & games in the mud & floods

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
All this and countless weekend trips around the UK countryside, the Classic finals at Siverstone, PH Sunday Services, ect ect ect....
What a car!!!
I guarantee she'll be back in action in a few days time, fighting fit & ready to repeat the fun of 2102 all over again in 2013.
Well I didn't buy it to look at it
