Battery flat on return from holiday. Now managed to get in car with help from previous owner. Charged battery but on reconnection the alarm has gone haywire. It can be silenced with the electronic key, but cannot start the car without the siren going off.The alarm fitted is a cobra 6422. Any ideas?

I have a similar problem but can't get into the car! Am perusing the manual and about to search the 'threads' to see if I can find an answer. Sorry I'm no help, but nice to see a problem I can relate too - hope someone can help you out there

If the alarm is going off when you try to crank the car it sounds like a voltage drop problem. You may have a flat battery because it is faulty, you go to crank, it fails, voltage drops, alarms goes off. May be new battery time.
