Looking at an early ish car: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use... and a lateish car: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use... or http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use... I can't tell any difference at all. Interested to see any variations.
Thanks very much for your comments, Ive just bought a replacement bonnet for my car and then a friend warned me about the different vents. Its difficult to see from ad pictures but it looked as if latter cars looking straight down on the bonnet had slightly more visable vent holes compaired to earlier cars where the top lip seems to cover them more.
Not the worlds best picture....but the central car is an 'early' bonnet, the one to the right is a 'facelift' bonnet.

From the look of it they 'may' be interchangable.
The most obvious difference is the underside, an early bonnet has 2 alloy struts bolted across it at 45 degrees, the facelift bonnet has the extra strength moulded into the fibreglass.
Underside of an early bonnet....(the mesh isn't standard)
