I'm looking forward to summer already... have already planned which tunnels I'll be blasting through. Need to get a decent outdoor cover until I get a shed and sort the garage out next year...
The guys here all swear by the Hamilton at £160. I got the Halfords one for about £60 in medium - fits well and certainly keeps the car dry.Quietlybonkers said:

Lovely car! So why the 500 over the modded 450?
It was very touch and go to be honest, but Fernhurst made me a really, really good offer, plus there were time and logistical issues with getting down to see it in Bude (I was due to go over on Friday). Both looked great cars. I would have liked the modded 450 very much, but the overall price began to work out very similar and in the long term a 500 with a good service history should maintain more of its value and a broader appeal. Personally, I did really like the idea of the mods on the 450. It really was 50/50, but I can ill afford to lose working days looking and the return trip to Devon was about 12 hours and again more diesel, then there was the return trip to pick the car up.The insurance aspect also had a play on things as my current insurer became all twitchy as soon as I mentioned mods and Mannings wouldn't insure on the classic policy until February, due a claim I had in the Beamer Nov 2010 (damn snow!
). It was the 450 that really sparked me to eventually buy one and had it been more accessible, then I may have come to a different decision. I wavered on my last deal and missed an opportunity, so decided not to do it this time!Anyway, I'm trying to avoid the route of 'what if' at the moment!

Halfrauds do a few covers from cheap and nasty up to the one below for £70.00. I had this on my chimaera body for about 6 months continuous when i did a bodylift a few years back and it was very good. Have a look http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...

The cover that came with mine is way more fitted than that one you link to, it's cut and sewn to hug every curve of the car, not sure what make it is though as I haven't used it for 3 years. I'd be concerned that the loose bits on that one might flap about in a strong breeze and do more damage than good.
Hi Chris
Great choice, nice wheels and plate as well.
Classic additions do good reasonable covers and do 10% discount for TVRCC. Cover craft make good covers but are more expensive.
My car use to live outside as well when i first bought it and i went through the same pattern as you regarding covers. Having had both the Classic Addition is value for money.
I have and use as my favourite a Leven hood only cover ((when the car is left outside) which is great but when it is cold and windy the material goes stiff and you get a little chaffing line on the boot. This probably wouldn't notice on a light colour paint like yours but if you use one of these you need to keep the car waxed to reduce chaffing, but you will only get this over long periods of use.
Good luck
