Hi all,

Finding that the boot is a little damp at the moment - in fact, there was around a tablespoon of water sitting on the jack bag in the boot yesterday morning.
Feeling around, it felt a bit damp around the number plate area.
Is it common that water could be leaking around the lock barrel or the plate lamps?

Thanks,
Craig

this might sound silly put pour some water around the channel along the top edge of the boot then lift the boot lid and see where it goes, usually culprits are those little black grommits around the door lock or in the channel to the opposite side of the fuel cap.

Dropped a nut yesterday behind my fuel tank.

Cursed momentarily (important nut) until I heard a 'tink' on the floor. Appears there is nothing between my tank and the bulkhead.

Could your water be coming in here somehow?

The first area to check is the rubber seal that surrounds the boot directly under the lid.

This is seldom if ever actually stuck to the protuding lip that it sits on as by clicking into place, it usually works fine.

However, petrol overspills near the filler can degrade the rubber leading to ingress. Lift the seal there and a few touches of Sikaflex should help.
