Chimaea Aerial
Discussion
I've read that the Chimaera aerial is powered. I had a look at the connection behind my stero, and there is an additional wire from my stereo (think it's a perm live) that connects to the aerial - is this standard? Am getting a new stereo this week and was wondering how to fit it.

Hi
I've just swapped my Pioneer tape deck machine for a new Pioneer CD head unit. It was a straight swap, the power is the yellow wire BTW.
The aerial does have two wires the standard black one and a smaller red wire, this is probably to do with the the aerial earth or something. Someone will probably put me right, but I just ingored it and it works fine.
The only issue I had was that I forgot to connect in the earth for the multi cd player, doh
I think they have powered aerials because they didn't want to spoil the lines by having an external aerial.

Hi
The red wire on mine was connected to the aerial plug that goes into the head unit, I guess it will be connected for the earth of the aerial.
I have to take my head unit out in the next couple of days to fit a aux input unit for my pda navigation thingy, so I can hear it above the engine, so I'll check out exactly what where and how that little red wire is used
