Collected her today,45 miles away from home....

Terrential downpour, roads flooded, visibility shocking, but do you know, the sound of that V8 after 4 weeks was just heaven.

Headlights rechromed and lamps sorted, and PAS installed (eventually, pipes leaking, pump giving up etc etc)

Good to have her back

In this weather mine's full of water in the mornings whether the roof's on or not so who gives a crap...

I'm really hoping for a dry Christmas so that I can head up to my folks with the top down ... it confuses the crap out of them when I turn up and it's cold but the roof's off. hehe

biggrin

When I picked up my first Chimaera I got caught in a blizzard in rural Derbyshire. Then I couldn't remember how to refuel! Nightmare

I would imagine pretty much anything inside it might, especially if vaguely electrical.

Phil you really need to get on top of those leaks as I believe this is why owners have problems with fuse boxes etc scratchchin and have you not got a shiny new Canems sitting in the foot-well? eek seriously fella get weather proofing that hood or sourcing those leaks frown cars are not exactly electronics Nirvana as it is whistle

Or look at this in nautical terms for an alternative solution:

a) fit a fully automated Canems controlled bilge pump
b) fit the Canems above the tide mark
c) fit the Canems to something that floats

You see, there are so many alternatives to fixing the leak when you think outside the box silly

Actually he may have a spare output on that ECM to operate an electric pump so a bilge pump may be an option hehe failing that fit the ECM into the fuel tank they never stay wet for long. whistle

It's a TVR ... It predates electricity. ;-)

The CANEMS is - thankfully - completely waterproof and my fusebox is about six inches off the footwell floor...

I'm slowly working through the old girl and although I put my hand through the rear screen a couple of months ago the roof itself is pretty watertight ... there is however a leak that seems to be landing somewhere in the middle of the passenger footwell carpet but only when she's parked "nose up" and its rained heavily. In that event she does get a wet floor with the "ribs" in the floor getting quite full of water but not enough to drown electrics.

We'll get there... wink

It is simple.

1. Find lowest point in the floor each side. This can be done by inserting 100 litres of water and measuring the depth.
2. Drill bath plug sized hole at lowest point each side.
3. Insert bath plug in each hole.
4. Once a week, have a bath with the partner of your choice in your TVR.
5. Pull out the plugs.
6. Wring out carpets.
7. Reinsert plugs into now dry holes.

I have kinda done this ... I moved the battery to the boot so there's still the two bolt holes for the battery box there which give a convenient "overflow"... biggrin

Actually - I do need to do some fibreglassing to the inside of that stupid cubbyhole that the fusebox sits in as the front tyre rubs against the outside of it on full left lock and has worn it very thin on that edge of it,

Good old TVR engineering... wink
