I was looking too and noticed they'd all gone frown
What size wheels and tyres are you running Daz? Might be an option to go for wheels and tyres instead of just tyres.

you probably can get cheaper they have/will be discontinued but they were delivered mega quick im a little sceptic of putting V rated tyres on the fronts so ive got Yokohama s-drive on them with Toyo proxes on the rears the Yokos are a premium tyre and look the dogs bks aswell as performing brilliantly. The Toyos will always be a favourite with TVRs i do believe the replacement to the T1-R is already available

I fitted a set of Uniroyal Ransport 2s on the front of my Chim recently & have found them to be excellent so far.

In fact it's getting a pair on the rear too in Jan.

A good quality tyre at the right price, recommended smile

I have had Uniroyal Rainsport 2 on my daily runner for the last 2 years. They wear very well and are by far the safest tyre I have used in the wet, aqua planning is a thing of the past. In the dry they are sure footed and look good to. If Toyo are hard to get when im looking for a new set of boots for the Chim then I would buy the Rainsport 2.

+1 for Yoko s-drives on the front, sufficient speed rating (w), look good, easy to find locally (for me), only done 2600 miles so far but very pleased.

They don't appear to be available in 205/55/15. frown

Can only talk about the experience with 18" KU31 on my Golf GTI. They were shocking! In cold damp conditions it almost swapped ends under low speed braking, I had to catch the slide! I ditched them in favour of Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas and it transformed the car.
I'm really nervous about trying these on the Tiv for this reason!

Sorry I should have said I run 16" rear wheels on the front of my power steering equiped Chim.

Front: 205/50r16

Rear: 225/55r16

The slightly smaller 205 profile with power steering gives lovely comunactive steering feel & no under steer issues.

Most tyres these days are designed for cars weighing 1500kg or more, so I actually chose to go with the softer wall of the 149 mph "V" rating as I believe it suits a the lightweight TVR better giving a more compliment ride.

Ever since the day I witnessed my mate in his Tuscan aquaplane in front of me on the M1 into the central reservation during a heavy downpour, I swore my TVR would always wear quality rain focused tyres.

These cars are very light with wide profile tyres, the perfect combination for aquaplaning!

Theres going to be faster dry weather tyres out there like Toyota 888 ect but the day you get caught in a downpour & go up on the water I bet you'll immediately wish you'd gone for a good wet weather tyre.

I guess it's down to the type of driving you do with you TVR, I use mine all rear round on the road so I want a good all round road tyre that's safe in the wet yet performs well in the dry.

What sold the Rainsport 2s to me in the end was a very comprehensive tyre review in a German magazine where all the big name tyres were tested, this included comprehensive aquaplane & wet braking tests.

The Rainsport 2s destroyed the completion in these two simulated wet weather tests and were every bit as good in the dry.

They also did really well in a Which Magazine test.
