Got the Chim back at last
Discussion
I picked up my Chimaera from Philip Wood (PR Wood in Essex, see TVR links, bodywork specialists) today after 6 weeks having the back end repaired following a shunt.
A big recommendation from me for his service if you are in an accident or want some bodywork done. I got whacked up the rear end, cracking the bumper and rear panel, so it had to be cut out, a new bit ordered and fitted. The quality of the repair is faultless, no join visible and a perfect colour match. He also picked up the car in Croydon the day after, helped deal with hire car, and was generally very good at keeping me informed.
Fortunately for me, the other driver admitted fault so it all came off his insurance including the hire car, so I never had to dip my hand in my pocket.
But I really missed having it to drive. It has a new exhaust as well, and when I heard it fired up, I couldn't wait to drive it again ... the endless power, the noise, the looks. Once bitten, always hooked hey?
