The doors have a habbit of getting out of sink, case of locking it and unlocking it (from the inside is best) until it is back to normal.

When you say you can lock it and alarm it, but only from the passenger side......can you explain what you mean?

Do you mean that if you use the key on the drivers side it only locks the driver's door rather than both but when you do the same from the passenger side it locks both?

If thats the case you may need to look at the driver's door solenoid as that triggers the central locking.

You can see the lock mechanism by looking in the small compartment behind the seat, the carpet SHOULD be Velcro in place (if you're lucky)

When the battery was flat I assume you opened the passenger door and then charged the battery... It is possible that as the battery was flat when you unlocked the door that (as has been mentioned) the central locking is out of synch... The central locking would have seen one for unlocked and one door locked when it powered back on.

You may want to try taking the roof off, climbing in to the car and then locking it while you are in there (hence taking the roof off). Then disconnect the battery for a few minutes (I'd suggest 30 to an hour)... Feel free to climb out but don't unlock the door.

Then (with the doors still locked) reconnect the battery and try again.

It may not work but its free LOL

IIRC, the older style door opening button uses a cable to open the door, the later (under the mirror) uses a solenoid.
So if your button isn't working it could be the cable has slipped or broken??

The doors solenoid relay (on mine) is under the dash on the left, its about the size of a box of matches and was grey. Mine had a dry joint on one of the 2 coils in it causing problems.
Central locking also goes through the alarm.

You may find the door locking button (on the opening knob) has been bypassed, if a new alarm system has been fitted.
I believe mine has as there is no power to it either and a new alarm was fitted by a previous owner.
The easiest way for a non-TVR specialist to do central door locks on a key fob is via the button, but you can't leave it connected for interior use, because as soon as someone presses it the car would shut down....if all that makes sense.
I can only lock mine by the fob or one door at a time with key, but I don't think the latter sets the alarm.
Something for me to sort at some point.

That's why I said to take the roof off... You could lock the door with the key and climb out through the open roof if you wanted to (assuming you have agarage as it's p*ssing down right now)
