Just seen THIS. Is that price right? Bit steep for a few cuts of metal!

The materials are very inexpensive but its jigging everything up and getting all holes for bushing and joints true in their alignment, concentricity and correct sizes, is the part that costs I would expect. You can shop around for good second hand ones, but at least with power you have security in what you have purchased and if you have any fitment problems, I am sure with Doms good reputation you have some fall back.

That is for a full set of wishbones though - front and rear - so not *THAT* bad...

Who was it that advertised they were offering tubular replacement items rather than the pressed standard ones. ?

£674.99+vat for a full set of wishbones plus bushes sounds pretty good to me, they're all powder coated as well. I've always used Powers wishbones and been happy with them.

Be aware that maybe tubular on the front if stronger than the originals could cause chassis damage if you kerbed it hard enough; the old pressed type were probably the weak point; this is the situation with the Lotus Elans.

I have fitted tubular wishbones on top and bottom, obviously they are stronger and as you say they are usually the weak spot it you have a bump, they will crumple first, but if you crash that bad i will be crying either way. Easier to clean with no crevices (espeically the bottom ones) for dirt to get into and with no sharp edges where paint and powder coat can chip and flake off, leaving bar metal.

If the dreaded happens, run out of talent, tubular will not give so much, it's easier to replace bent wishbone than bent chassis, are the tubular ones heavier. Just a thought, I've got a new F/ lower from power and feels ok looks ok.

Do you have proof or is it a self concocted theory ?

If i needed knew ones, i would go for the tubular from Readman Racing. Much easier to keep clean and rust free. I have heard about them being too strong in the event of a side on bump. Weather thats true or not i dont know, but i`d still go for them.
