Servicing

The winter is coming and my chim 400 will be put away until next year. It will need some servicing / maintinance done,the Body work,stone chips waxoiling etc are no problem, but i was wondering weather to service the engine, i.e.(change oils plugs belts and so on)my self, or take it to a dealer / professional. Any advice would be welcome. I am would be fairley confident as i service my everyday cars myself, but I am wondering if there is more to it than meets the eye.

This is a very simple engine to service everything is accessible. I have even put in an uprated cam myself. You need Steve Heath's book and a Range Rover Workshop Manual is useful.

Just remember that even though you may be more than capable, if you do all servicing yourself this could effect the resale value or deter some buyers when you eventually part company with it.
