Any tips on getting hold of 5 stud hubs?
Can 4's be converted to 5?

I've seen the sportmotive kit but seems a bit pricey at £350 + VAT

Isn't that what the Sportmotive kit is, 4 stud hubs converted to 5 stud?

......and you'd need 4 new disc's as well !

I wasn"t very impressed with a conversion seen recently, the tyres on the 16" spiders caught the body work damaging the tyres .

Why do some conversions cause the wheels to stick out further.?

I do like the 16" spiders.

If the wheel sticks out too far it could easily be the wrong offset, its amazing how often people ignore offset when a few mm makes a world of difference!

The spiders are factory from TVR ,were offered as an upgrade when buying the car new .. Must be something to do with the hubs .

They weren't, the factory offered a spider upgrade kit circa 2004, wheels, hubs, discs, etc..

Are the 5-stud Granada hubs a straight swap for the Sierra ones?

I`m not sure what the stud pattern is on the spiders but this will help .

Done a bit of research Hubs are from a Jeep Cherokee, but the wheel stud pattern (5 x 114.3)

Thanks Daz - it looks like they've drilled and fitted an additional flange on the back of the hub - - I wonder if a local machine shop would replicate that....still need new discs tho.

Might see if I can go down the route of 4 x 108 to 4 x 100 adaptors instead.

Hallo,

I did quite a few 5 stud conversion the way TVR did it with the extra flange behind the original.
But you can also use the Granada hubs (85-89 IIRC)and redrill the flange to Spider pcd 5 x 114,3.
The rears are easy. You only have to figure out where to drill due to the exrta holes. But if you get it right there is enough "meat" left. The problem is the front because the Granada uses a larger bearing so you will have to machine the bearing face to sierra spec. For a machineshop it is a very easy job. But it has to be spot on. I may have some pics if anybode is interested.

greetings
Hans.

I'd be interested, and I can do the machining if people are interested, would rather do a "batch" than just pairs.

Hi Scott,

Yup - would be interested. What's involved?

Ideally getting my 4's converted to 5's with the correct PCD would be best.

Could you come up with a cost and PM me? I could see there being a lot of people interested in this as there'd be more scope for aftermarket wheels.
Personally I want 18" spiders and I'll be happy!

I'm looking into what donor hubs front and rear are required/suitable, then I will check on availability.

I think the way forward is to obtain a set of hubs, do these, I will then know what is involved.
