Just seen him on the new top gear mentioning he used to own a Chim!!
Wondered if anyone one here might have it now??
Cool, but did it get the usual Top Gear clarkson/hammond response? You know the thing, 'oh,didn't go far then' or 'didn't know you like canoeing', that sort of stuff?Wondered if anyone one here might have it now??
I've stopped watching it.
Unfortunately Damien's praise of the Chim around the lanes was drowned out by Clarkson's predictably hilarious & uniquely original reliability gaff.
Shame he can't be more loyal as I recall Clarkson revieweing the Chim 500 & singing its praises highly - and relax it is an entertainment show.
Shame they didn't take the opportunity to change the programme format which is getting tiresome in places.......

An interview with Damien Lewis where he mentions his TVR....

Of course he could have had the faster, better looking, better handling Griff but had to settle for a Chimp to fit the golf clubs in.

You used to drive a TVR - what do you drive now?
My TVR was brilliant and very fast... when I could get it started! If I went away for two or three weeks and it just sat in the road in damp London, it always ran into a bit of trouble getting it going again. Now I drive an Audi A6 Allroad. It's a fantastic car. I'm sponsored by Audi, so I have this rather lovely rather arrangement where they just insist that I'm always in the latest model. I just drove the new Audi TT RS in LA for the last five days and it was a lot of fun. Big enough boot for golf clubs as well - that's a crucial element.

Thought it may have gone like that Shame he can't be more loyal as I recall Clarkson revieweing the Chim 500 & singing its praises highly - and relax it is an entertainment show.

It is sooo tiresome now IMHO of course. How many times can they get away with the same old 'jokes'? I'm a serious petrolhead but would like a rebate on the amount of my licence fee is paid to these has-beens because of their re-hashed dross, however small it may be. [await flack from mathematical anoraks, who may well have been clapping like performing seals when the phrase 'who'd like to see the tape?' is uttered again].
sorry, goin' on a bit I know but FFS.

The format is getting a little tired and fairly predictable. The same Clarkson jokes and gaffs. Any other company would have sued him if he spoke about their product in such a way or put in a clause in the contract, whereas TVR used to get it all the time and it's still coming.
I do occasionally watch it to view the some of the cars, but every time I switch on I seem to find the 20 minute 'celeb marketing and Clarkson tonging' opportunity, which bores me to tears
; followed by the 'tame racing driver that sticks cocktail sticks into his J@ps-eye before breakfast...' routine.
Some of the specials have been pretty good, Africa, Vietnam, America etc. Good entertainment, but they're running out of ideas.
I'd like to see more cars and a different approach. Rather than listening to somebody like Hugh Grant talk about where to find the best hookers (for example), it would be more interesting if they spent 20 minutes visiting some of the various enthusiasts clubs and looking at what they're doing. Still, I would rather watch it than all the other 'celebrity' led rubbish... not sure whether that's a compliment or not.
What about a How It's Made special on a TVR... now that would be good
