430 are the best, but I'm slightly biased, considered it when pwd95 owned it, but didn't have the confidence or money to change the gearbox at the time. Nice motor smile

I was amazed at the chassis condition. It would appear that early ones (I had a 92 Griff 400 previously)had a much better rust proofing with the silver hammerite type paint than the powder coating that flakes off easily. What was the issue with the gearbox? the chap I bought it from (nice bloke) said selecting 5th was noisy.
I have a couple of jobs to do on her ( dont we allways smile )

Install a new alarm
central locking
thrust bearing noisy
hood could do with a refurb (cosmetic only)

& I haven't finished the house refurb yet smile

Mine's a '94', on original outriggers, gave them a good clean up last winter and will be checking them over again very soon while fitting new bushes.
I think the sycro on yours was a little warn on one gear, can't remember which, but the last owner has spent quite a bit (respray, light upgrade, new dash I believe and gearbox).
Hope it gives as much fun as the Griff thumbup

No it had a new clutch, invoice is in the document folder. The noise might go away after its been given a good run.

Looks like this car has had an interesting life. The original build sheet shows the interior started life as blue full leather with blue dash top.
I may start to put together a time line of owners with dates etc (sad but I am an engineer smile )

Do you have any more "pre op" photos (before faired in headlights)?

Hi Alan
Good to hear you are enjoying it, the issue with the box was fifth gear. Anything over 2k revs and fifth would not engage as if the syncro was out.
I was tempted to try and have it repaired but it seems like it had been that way for so long I thought the best option would be to swap the box for a known good one.
Seems to have fixed the issue, however seeing those pictures im starting to slightly regret selling her!! Still something new should be with me by Tuesday

Im going on Tuesday to look at a Maserati 3200. Much like a TVR everyone has told me its going to cripple my bank balance and will never start and will cause me nothing but problems.
However it has a 3.2 twin turbo V8 so I think its worth the risk!!!!

Got to say i do prefer the early model with the grill apart from the boot imges. I don`t like the later Chimaera because the rear bumper seems to stick out to far and they can have cooling issues
