Hi all

I'm going to Le Mans in June for the 24hr and then down the med for a couple of weeks. So i'm buying a 4ltr Chimp off my mate in a few weeks, when hes finished some work on the car. After the euro trip in the Chim,i want to sell it on.I would like to keep it but already have another TVR and no space for another. The Chim has around 90k on the clock. Was wondering would i have problems reselling it with the high mileage.

Cheers Mart

Hope you are getting it cheap - over 60-70k and the prices seem to fall off pretty steeply

If its in good nick, chassis and mechanicals, and doesn't look too tatty, it may appeal to someone on a tight budget. Not everyone wants a low miler, and that's not a bad price for a reasonably late car. Prices are definitely higher in a heat wave, and lower when having the roof off is likely to lead to frostbite.

Would have thought that most people buy these cars on condition, not on the numbers displayed on the dash.

Anyway, I'm just replying to this thread incase I still haven't purchased one by the time you come to sell it on smile

£5k for that mileage seems a little steep (especially as it ought to be at mate's rates LOL), I paid £6k for a mint (and i do mean mint) 20k miler in October from a complete stranger.

Having said that, if it's straight, in good condition (chassis/body) then you ought to be able to sell it for something like that, especially in the summer when they fetch a bit more.

5k seems like a good price too me. Its a 98 model and as long as the chassis is solid then its well worth the 5k asking price.

That stranger is an idiot then.

As stated in your PH garage your car is probably worth £9k.

LOL - you won't find me arguing with that. But thankfully for the rest of us there are plenty of idiots out there :-)
