Hey folks,

I know this is a bit of a irrelevant subject, we have the glorious RV8 to listen to, who needs a stereo, but I want a new headunit in my car.

The Radio, as we all know, is not great so all I really want is a nice looking stereo with a USB port. Something that goes with a Chim interior, mine is black on black with (soon) brushed ally dash, any ideas?

In keeping with TVR installing Pioneer gear, I replaced the ancient CD head unit and Autochanger for a Pioneer CD with USB port. It controls the iPod and sounds great. The one I got is now discontinued (I got it last year) but this is similar: -

I recently installed a nice JVC headunit in mine. No CD Player or any moving parts, just a front USB, rear USB and Bluetooth. You can choose the display colour and set different day and night colours.

Mine lights up red in the day to match the car and light yellow at night to match the rest of my instruments.

It was ~£65 and is 25W X 4 output...

Looks ok, but not for me... in the Chim anyway. Looking for something a lot less fussy, buttons etc.

This was a nice one, with an alloy cover. It belongs to J400GED.

I agree. Mine isn't as blingy. Found a photo.

I found it hard trying to find one that had good functionality without it being a teenager's wet dream.

That is a beauty, any idea what it is?

I need to bin mine, you need about 15 A*s to set the bass and treble!

How convenient, if I've found a suitable replacement for mine by the 23rd I may well have one spare thumbup

I whole-heartedly agree but it fulfils the brief, it still looks really classy though....

I bought a Pioneer unit last summer - £383 from Halfrauds, or £163 online.
It has a single CD, two USB ports at the back, bluetooth, and bluetooth Parrot mobile hands free. The bluetooth means you can couple your ipod, pad or phone to it and listed to digital content. The hands free is obvious, though I do struggle to hear the phone over the engine, and you only hear the phone ring if the unit is switched on, so it you are listening to the V8 sound track and the phone rings, you have to switch it on swiftly.
It also looks in keeping with the car, not too bling and flashy.
I will look up the model number and post a photo tomorrow

Pioneer DEH 80 PRS is the closest of the current range

You can pick the colour of your choice, also the brightness, contrast etc, etc and have different colours/brightness dependent on day/night mode...
