Does anyone else find the seats low in a Chimaera? Has any one tried to modify the height?

You must have worn cushions, mine feels like I'm sat on top of the shuttle! I'd like lotus seats, then you really are sitting on the floor. You can put some spacers in to raise the seat if your 3'6"!? Hope that helps!

Speaking personally, I love the low position. Headlights behind at night are a bit of a pain, but that's all. A friend pointed out that he couldn't see the front. I asked him if he could in his Citroen......errrr, no.

Yep me too. I love it when you pull alongside a normal car, I'm like 2ft below them, great great great. I have a hankering for role bar, lowered seats makes it worthwhile. Felt much safer when inside Phazed car!

If you can source a set without being ass-raped! (Or perhaps that why people sit so low in Tuscan seats? They have no ass left?)

Ha, again prev owner installed them, got receipt for £400 + vat in 2008. Don't move as bolted in but it car has adjustable leven pedals and he was about the same height as me.

My Jag XJS seat are proven to fit, look in keeping with the interior, & will be going into the car come the spring.

They lift you very slightly which tends to give you a more commanding view of the road, which I actually like because it just feels more confidence inspiring.

Of course you could just get some 1" square section mild steel tube to use as spacers & bring your existing seats a fraction higher.

Just be careful you don't take it too far or you'll end up looking like a giraffe driving a convertible wink

That's why the seat is so low. If you remove the subframe/slider from a Chimaera seat you'll gain another 2/3 inches.

It'll stop others driving it if they are not happy with your fixed driving position - a good reason possibly?? It's just a pain to adjust the pedals if you need to though?

As said above (+1 Chimpofdarkness) you could just get some 1" square section mild steel tube to use as spacers to raise an existing seats an inch or two higher.

Each to their own!!whistle

Well thankyou Robert, yes lots of stuff but only because it had to be done! I hit the dash because heater was on off and triggered fuel cut off, outside my local shops, couldn't find the button. Had AA out to start me again, swore I'd not take the public abuse again! Some work was preventative medicine, car was a death trap! Happy now, well actually wanted to get set up for track but spent my money getting her back to "how a Tvr should drive". Still got loads to do, radio, nah fk that, bushes, brake upgrade, turbo now I'm being stupid. If I had more work I would be carrying on but things are really bad at mo, it's a pain in the ass! Cheers Al

I've just bought a split roof to compliment my LPG conversion.

I'm seeing how many unfinished projects I can collect at any given time tongue out

Are they connected somehow? I always thought my step-daughter's car ought to have a split roof, to let the strong silent ones out more easily. First time I ever travelled anywhere with her, she fell asleep in the front of the car as we drove across Cheshire, and all of a sudden, somewhere near Tarporley I think it was, I got the sudden impression I was driving through a farmyard.........someone had dropped an industrial strength one and wasn't about to admit it.

The roof will pull straight out if you modify or make a boot stay like the one`s on MG`s..
