Battery/charging light on start up

Hi All

The Chim is hibernating at the moment. Went to start it up after it had been standing for a couple of weeks. Started no problems but the battery/charging light didn't go out. Gave it a gentle blip on the throttle and the light went out and stayed out, regardless of engine speed.

Is the alternator on the way out?

May be an idea to get a multi-tester on the alternator and keep an eye on it in future. May be worth checking the connections whilst you're at it and using petroleum jelly on exposed terminals. Could just be one of those quirks!
