Whats it worth?

It been a while since posting on here, sold my last TVR a couple of yeas ago. I have the opportunity to buy back a car I owned about five years back and wondered what its worth today. Its a Chim 500HC 97/P 43k Cooper Green, Tan full leather, I hand the engine rebuilt and refreshed by Power after it slipped a liner at 40k with new cam, lifters, piston, liner, timing gear etc at £4k, Body is good, Chassi and outriggers in grea shape, roof panel needs recovering, hood and window good. some stone chips to the front of the bonnet (could do with painting) wheels could do with a refurbish, 1K on new toyos, Gaz shocks. Having sold the chap the car in the first place I don't want to insult him but I can see prices have slid a little with the current economic climate, what do you think?

Looking at the PH classifieds private sale 500's with not dissimilar milages seem to be 12-13k, and dealer prices around 15k, although there are exceptions up and down in price with private and dealer sales. Obviously though these are asking prices... I don't think you can really put a 'fixed' value on one (like the second hand car guides do) as it's all a bit subjective, i.e. what does the seller value it at, and how much do you want that particular car. I know what mine is worth to me, but I suspect a potential buyer would have an entirely different view

If you haven't got your heart set on buying your old car back, there's a 430 for sale at 9k in the classifieds.. mileage is over 60k but rarity value must be high....

Thanks for that, it gives me a place to start. Ive already owned three 430s and a very rare 430 BV, nice as they are there not a patch on a 500. Looking forward to gettting back in the sadle.
