Off to Cardiff on Friday to pick up four Estorils with tyres. Dunno whether to take the Golf or beastie. Pretty sure the two 16's will fit in beasties boot but that probably means putting the two 15's inside the car.... All assuming of course that she gets through the MOT tomorrow scratchchin

Weather forecast?
It must be 240-250 miles each way. 500 miles motorway/ dual carnageway with nowhere to rest your left foot? Personally I would take the VAG. It will be less tiring, the noise of the Chimaera is wearing. I did 320 miles to Petersfield and back the other week, and was exhausted by the time I got home. No choice about which car to take - I went to see Carl Baker.
I have done Wisbech to Newport regularly, and it's getting on for four hours on an average day, so your journey will be five hours, on a weekday. Hit a lot of stop start traffic and you will certainly be better off in the Golf - does it have cruise?
If you do take Beastie, I do know that four wheels are a tight fit but should go in, with one behind the seats and one on the passenger seat.......but it is tight.
Good luck.

st! Just read the thread title. For the love of all that is sane, go on Sunday instead. The roads will be hell on wheels on Friday, especially on the way back.

If my girlfriend can take her car to Germany, then you can do better!

Get the measuring tape out and see if the wheels will fit.

Hi Chilliman. Do you need the front 15" wheels or are you buying the set just to get the 16" ones ?
If you don't need the 15" ones, I might be interested in them if they are in really good condition, and.....the best bit....I'm based on Cardiff, so that would solve your transport problem.
Depends how much you want for them against cost of refurbing the paint on mine I guess.

Chilli they will fit, 16s in boot, 15s on passenger seat. I'd take VW , all that way back with filthy tyres on your seat it's not much fun!
