Discussion
Under the dash panel, on the left hand side of my steering column, of my 94 Chimaera, I have a button it goes in or out what does it do ? sorry i did not get a hand book with the car just a big grin on the way home !!! all the way from Dover to Gloucestershire and the car just keep going better and better !!!!! it needs poo loads of TLC and have started today the only fault so far is the drivers door window lowers when it wants tooooo then goes up but then won't go down again, found the fuse box and the battery and been out today for another grin mmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy old bumpy no pas but big grin factor !
other half was worried about ejector seat but i reassured her that I still Love her !!! the last car I had that gave this grin factor was an 86 tuneport corvette that was manual and had been modded1 was just as fast and just as much fun to drive then ! sold it to a friend and drove it hte other day lol its no TVR signed local pig in pooooo!
At least you didn't press it inadvertently, wonder why the dashboard lights didn't come on, and then , in frustration and multiple button pressing, push your headlights button through the dash!
Apparently I'll have to remove the radio and cage to access whatever I've broken. Can't be bothered yet...

Another tale of the same!
Yes... at least you didn't press it inadvertently with your knee when driving, then wonder why the dashboard lights would not come on and then, in frustration fiddle with the wiring for hours, change any fuses that looked like they might be the cause - before finally
Fernhurst and speaking to a bemused workshop manager.
D'oh!

D'oh!After reading this thread I had a look under my dash and there it was...the button! now, while I didn't really need to press it, there's something about a new button... it was begging to be pressed...even though I knew it only switched the dash lights on and off. So I pressed it...
...the bugger promptly fell off
...put it back on and pressed it. While the button was depressed the lights were on but as soon as i took my finger off the lights would go out... eventually after loooaaaddddssss of pressing managed to get the lights to stay on.
Moral:- no need to press buttons for no reason.
