as the thread title says really, has anyone got any info (good or bad) about this particular Chim.

The dealer has some real high end stuff for sale, but thats no guarantee that the Chimaera is any good.

id call it a pinkish purple
either way though its "potentially" a stunning colour smile

something i cant tell from just looking at the pics tongue out

It has been for sale for ages and discussed on here a couple of times. The dealer isn't prepared to haggle from what I remember. On face value, the colour is a major put-off and the interior is a little 'blancmange'. LIke most of these cars, it's the history and what is underneath that counts.

I'm sure somebody went to see the car, but cannot find the thread at the moment. Purple is nice on a TVR, but pink... maybe its the light?

thanks Chris smile
i did wonder if anyone had viewed it, but couldnt find any threads.

yeah the colour is prob very love it or hate it - would be handy to know the paint name, as that way itd be easy to look it up on google and see some other examples (as you say the lighting may be wrong etc)

not sure what you mean about the interior ???

The interior looks extremely bland, A little time spent on it though and it could be transformed. There are some really good threads with self-restored interiors.

The colour is very personal. I'd pay more attention to the chassis, engine and service history at this price. The rest you can worry about later!

i found this thread
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

lots of discussion (very little love for the colour)
but it wasnt the one that got viewed (at least one other that got mentioned had been viewed)

dealer doesnt sound great and i saw a few negative comments on other threads about them during searching, including one that said roughly "pretty much all the threads about this company have been deleted"

Check the service records, if the cam hasn't been changed it's probably on its way out on that mileage. It wouldn't be my first choice of colour. I think for that money you could find better.

That's interesting, I know 1996 was a crossover year but that has a Mark one front and a Mark 2 back. I find it interesting as mine has a Mark 2 Front and Mark 2 rear LOL

Those look awfully like standard alloys to me, so 15/16 and not 17.

i actually like the exterior colour.... The interior on the other hand blaargh...

Possibly. You could ask him to take some more pics. It's overcast in Kent at the moment, so it may deliver a more accurate colour as opposed to the full on sunlight.
