Just as the parts for the sump are arriving, I've found something else. Only a minor leak this time! It appears to be forming a small pool to the side of the distributor. Any idea where it is coming from?

See attached:

Valley gasket!
First thing to do is check your crank case breather and pipes make sure they are clean

Would agree looks like it could be leaking from the front rubber seal on the valley gasket.

Heres a pic with the plenum and inlet manifold removed.

Thanks for that. Are these the breathers in the pic or is only one of them a breather?

Also, if I sort the breather out, will it stop the leak or do I need to replace the valley gasket as well?

Thanks for that. Checking for the vacuum, is that a case of putting my hand over the end of the hose with the engine running? Also, do the breathers screw off?

Has a quick peep and the seem okay, but I'll get them all off tomorrow and clean them through (it's cold out in the snow). I've popped the breather in some meths overnight to see if I can clean it, otherwise I'll get another.

I did smell quite strong a bit of oil/ petrol. If I can't clean it, I'll get another.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

Just pull out the mesh and soak it in petrol the pop it backin, job done or if its started to break down a stainless scourer is a good replacement
