It is a standard DIN fit, you have to use a standard DIN cage in there with it.

+1 ...

... however you may then find that the hole in the panel itself is then too small for the trim ring on the radio to fit correctly. hehe

I have the same problem. Even with a standard DIN cage the hole is too big!! Very annoying. I was going to make/buy one. Let me know if you find a solution.

Hi JoJackson,

Funny you should mention this, I make up radio panels from aluminium alloy and have found the following.

A radio panel from an older Chimaera with the 3 light buttons and the warning light strip has the following radio slot dimensions 188mm long X 58mm wide. That is the radio panel stripped of wood veneer & varnish and is back to bare mild steel.

I bought a radio cage from Halfords and the dimensions are 182mm long X 52mm.

Now either there are two different dimensions of Radio/CD players/ In Car Entertainment systems or there has to be a plastic surround that comes with the Radio/CD or you have to buy one separately and fit if required.

Cheers matey,

Have a look at David Beer's website, MOD-Wise - He does the twin speed fans for radiators; hot-start mod; amplified radio aerial, etc.

Linky: http://www.djbeer.hostingbt.com/id31.html

You could put his aerial in the dash, but usually recommended to put it on top of the fuel tank - further away from the sparks/engine!!

This one, mounts behind the mirror, unobtrusively at the top of the windscreen.
