Hi all.

Firstly, sorry for starting a topic thats probably already been talked about.
I am in the middle of what to do with my exhaust. I currently have the stock system, although virtually brand new one from ACT.
It is lovely and smooth sounding, but not loud enough.

I am planning on decatting my car, either Clives or ACT's y piece. This will be done this month.
But I am contemplating replacing the whole system and then selling the current system as it is like I say 'like new'.
So, I am unsure whether I would like the cherry bomb system by ACT as after speaking with a few TVR specialists, it is perhaps a tad expensive for what it is. Sleeving is obviously an option on my current system, but a couple of specialists have said to search my area for a company that will make me a custom exhaust to my preference?
A client of mine had a JP custom exhaust for his chim years ago but they no longer do this according to them and ACT.

So, has anyone in cambs area used a company to make a custom exhaust?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

hi , I've tried to do this a year ago , searched everywhere for a good bespoke exhaust maker local to our area
with no luck , in the end it was either to go north 140 miles or west 140 miles
let us know how you get on , I must agree if the act system was better priced a lot more people would be buying them

Fit the decat pipe first.

For some people that and a standard exhaust is plenty loud enough.

You don't mention it, so I will, while you're at it remove the precats too.

I have full decat, ACT Y-piece with ACT Supersports exhaust - many, ok most, people think it's too loud.

I don't agree evil

Track down Zippee on the T350 forum. He is in West Cambs and has an extremely loud car, and he may have had that amplifier made locally....

I will fit the decat pipe - will be doing shortly. You say supersports exhaust? Is that the cherry bomb system? I am having my service done in April at trackvroad with a view to popping to JP exhausts to get them to edit the exhaust. There was a post put up saying they will edit the exhaust for me but it seems to have disappeared since last night. The pre cats have been removed previously.

ICE Direct in Peterborough do/did make up custom exhausts. I've no idea on the quality of the work so you'd need to check them out for yourself!

Tony has a JP (from ACT) Exhaust with Decats, same as me, although his 4.3 makes it more evil smile

Ice Direct do Longlife Exhausts. I looked at them for my Z4 but decided to go Remus. No idea if they will be cheaper.

JP can do it but you would need to go through Tim at ACT if its a TVR as Tim owns all of the patterns which you'll need as a start. To be honest though, Tims sports manifolds and cherry bomb exhaust are plenty loud enough for any application and you'd have to spend a lot to come up with anything better. Certainly bin the standard Y piece as its rubbish.
