Working on a '99 Carrera Coupe at the moment.
Very nice build quality, nearly 4 seats,easy to get in and out of, could be tempted into having one if i had the money.
Might have a look on the classifieds.
The Chimaera and Griff will be better than the 'S', but for overall reliability i would have to say Porsche.
A TVR would probably be more interesting though.

But a TVR Chimaera or Griffith would be a damn sight cheaper to maintain (10 year old Porsche? New clutch? That'll be £3000 sir!) and a lot better fun if you find the right one

Don't kid yourself about maintenance though. Dealership prices for services are going to be £600 and £1000 for 6k and 12k services respectively (you can probably halve that at a decent independent). Parts might be cheaper if you know where you can get them, otherwise not very cheap at all.
That said, service at the dealership I use has noticeably improved (from good) since NS took the reins, and I've got a V8 burble

If you don't experience a similar feeling, maybe you should consider sticking with the Porsche.

Make the change only if you have patience and like a lot more attention.....I sold my 964 after eight years in 911's and bought a chim. I absolutely love the car but you must be prepared for the eccentricity that is TVR..
Costs service etc are more expensive on the Chim, 6000 mile service £400, versus £300 on the Porsche with an independant.
The Plus is very rarely do you hear a memeber of the public say "Nice Porsche" unless you are in a GT3 but in six months I have had numerous comments from passers by on the chim.

I came across a Porsche 911 broken down on a roundabout near where i live, and the guy was sitting in the car in the middle of the road. So i got out my Chimaera and helped him push it to the side. He said he had been sitting there for 20mins and no one had stopped to help him!!! - The ironic thing is that he used to own a Chimaera, and it had never let him down...
Get one...............you know it makes sense!
