I want to order a new set of springs for my Nitrons.
I cant remember exactly and will check tomorrow but i think mine are 375/325 but bottom out too easily especially when the car is loaded up with race and camping gear. It also squats too much on the strip and i still get some fouling on the MTs at times. I think i will go to 425/375 but open to advice on rate choice also.

Can someone confirm the sizes i need to look at ordering please. 2.25" dia x ?

Average upgrade from standard is 400 front 350 rear I think, as yours is used for some specialized work would it be prudent to not go too stiff on the font but increase the rears to limit squat, so 400 front 375 rear ?

I must admit i find it hard enough at the front on the road as it is even if the shocks are left on the softer drag race settings.
I like your thinking. I definately need it harder up the rear eek

Sometimes using the word "at" instead of the word "up" is a better idea hehe !

It'll probably get answered before this evening, but if not I'll get my ruler out tonight.

Derek, I've got a used set of Nitron springs that I took off the old Griff as they were way too hard for my needs. Not sure what rates they are but they were specced by the original owner for track use.

The springs are up in Barrow but I'll be home 2nd week in April if you can wait that long and they're free if you want them.

No idea about your set up, far to technical for me, but Nitrons tell me standard spring lengths are 9". Hopefully get to see your car out and about sometime this year.

Didn't Daz have some new nitrons very recently. ?(cue gratuitous picture if them basking on a sheepskin rug) and I think he complained they were far too stiff as supplied spring wise, are they all like that?

Mine wern't after TvR did the geo and set up - made a huge difference to driving the car, 100 miles of torture to get there and 250 miles of driving heaven getting back!!

Hello Derek

Two names come to mind:

Steve Guglielmi will be able to sort you out. He's got a full range of Eibach springs.

Jools at Kitsandclassics.

Ive got double adjustable protechs on mine but i'm fed up with going round in circles trying to get a good compromise between comfortable road manners but good handling. At the moment it appears to be too soft at the back and too hard at the front (set fully soft on compresion) so am looking at options to get it sorted once and for all. Roughly what did you have done and how much did it cost?

I had stripped all the wishbones back, changed all the bushes to poly and bought some second hand nitrons that had been refurbed by the manufacturer. The drive was very harsh and the car very low at the front. Took it to TvR for a full geo set up which included adjusting spring heights and settings on the nitrons, adjusting all the tracking and camber and setting it up for road use with instructions on settings for trackdays. TvR had quoted about £100 but had major problems as I had the wrong springs fitted and it took them the best part of 2.5 hours to do the 4 wheel alignment. They stuck to the price quoted and the drive home was something I hadnt experienced before. Top blokes, top job and a huge difference. I would advise every owner to get it proffessional set up periodically and certainly everytime you mess with the Geometry.
