I need to buy a pack of assorted bolts and fasteners for general work on the Chim (eg the seats will be coming out over the next few weeks for proper cleaning so new bolts will take their place) so does it take metric or imperial bolts?

I've no bolts at the moment as I haven't done any work on cars for years and years.

Any recommendations for a general assorted kit is most welcome

Thanks

As a general guide most stuff is metric except engine and gearbox which is imperial.
You are better off finding a local fasteners company as postage can be a killer.
I have used http://www.namrick.co.uk who were pretty good, very quick delivery.

Some Metric 8.8 grade at least for seats or even A2/A4 grade stainless. M8 and maybe M10.

If you can be arsed log all the bolts you take off, sizes etc. Look at the top of the S series forum to see what can be produced with a bit of effort.
I can generate the table etc if someone else gets the data together.

These are usefull for the price.

I wouldn't use the manifold bolts but the others are ok.

You could probably get away with plastic screws for the seats TBH rofl

Have you tried a local Screwfix store? They offer a range of stainless bolts, nuts, washers etc.

Seat bolts are M8 nylocs (Just refitted drivers seat tonight)

I've used several places online for fasteners but my favourite is westfield fasteners, they also sell A4 grade stainless which might be a better bet for anything exposed to road cack than the usual A2 grade stainless.
