A few questions please regarding the dash air vents on a 96 Chim. Are they easy to remove? Which donor car do they come from? Has anyone got any suggestions for better quality alternatives that will fit without having to modify the dash in any way? Thanks Richard.

The Chimaera vents are slightly smaller than the Griffith ones but I think they're from Rover/MG/Metros of the period. Again speaking from the perspective of a Griffith the vents just pull out of the dashboard as they're a push fit into a piece of alloy that fits into the hose.

I've looked and not found anything better that's a direct replacement, obviously you can buy the Leven surrounds to improve the look but the actual vent itself is a tricky one.

I've looked into getting metal insets made and drew a CAD model to get quotes but they came in at a prohibitive figure each. I've had a look at getting some castings made but need to chase up the supplier I contacted on that one as I've not heard anything for 6 months (been busy myself) but lack of a response suggests it might be a tricky job.
