Bought low mileage 33000 from garage with warranty, deal on price to include full 12000 service and replace leaking rad, also to make sure running smooth. Hoping to have trouble free motoring for a while.
Have had the car for 4 weeks and is now back in shop, originally with a small list to rectify, mainly poor running and noise from clutch bearing when cold, few small leaks to sump and power steering hoses.
The clutch has turned out to be a release bearing and replacement arm. New clutch as well.
The poor running is down to break in HT leads, and also a new cam to be fitted.
It has been in the shop for nearly 3 weeks and the only reason I am not totally p****d is the weather has been so bad. I know the garage is not at fault but thank God I was still in the warranty. Although only 3 months. I do miss the beast and really look forward to having it back next week.

Better getting fixed now than when the warranty has run out. Just a question, you say its not the garages fault but surely if the HT leads were on there last legs, they would have changed them? Why did the garage sort out the niggles to leaking hoses etc before you bought the car, hope you get your pride and joy sorted.

Would it not having been running "rough" when you picked it up? Sounds very fortunant you have a warrenty get it all done while the weather is crap.

Low mileage, infrequently used examples are great, but it usually increases issues. Things inevitably go dry, perish and seize from lack of use. One of the issues I'm experiencing.

Another argument for buying private, chances are an owner would have sorted most of those probe. Garages not fussed and hope they get away with it ( and charge u a premium). U will have forgotten all about it when the sun comes out and u can give it some beans!smile
