getting the roof done Tuesday ( weather permitting ). fairly tatty, velcro patches no good, seals coming off and split and the targa has scuffs and scrapes all over it and doesn't close to the window properly. Ordered a blue mohair roof from www.Carhood.com, arrived 2 days later £375 inc VAT and delivery. new seals from racetech direct, loop and targa £30

to save time I took the rear rail off ( or attempted to! ).Some of the hex screws unscrewed, some just span round but came out with a little pressure from behind , the one in the middle came out with a bolt attached!. should the others have had bolts attached? and if so where do you access them and where have they gone! as the screws came out and I didn't hear anything hit the floor!

removed rear retaining bar and rear roof section.

took the backs off the tuscan seats for a bit easier access, thats why they look a bugger.
the Targa was a bit of a ball ache , mainly due to the tiny screw heads and the fact that they were all pretty badly corroded. WD40 and left ten minutes as I didn't want to mash the screwheads trying to unfasten them.
The retaining bar and spacer bars on the Targa were fine ( glad I didn't spend another £50 buying new!), got rid of old glue and black sealant with a sharp wood chisel. Used same chisel to work all the edges of the fabric free and slowly peeled the fabric off the roof. I stood it up to let gravity give me a hand and just pulled it downwards.
again went over the underside of the roof with the chisel to get off the worst of the old glue and the sealant. Spent a while doing this but hopefully be worth it. kept the fabric incase I need a template.

Roof fitted yesterday. looks good. The fitter had to sit in the boot to get the bolts back on to the screws for the rear retaining bar. very tricky.
if you are doing this yourself, patience, patience,,,, and lots of glue.
The targa seals may need adjusting/ spacing to meet the window. been told to leave it up to let it stretch a bit as "it is a bloody tight fit"
not uncovered the rear window yet. going to waterproof the fabric today.
