Hi all, due to a leaking 97 swirl pot which has the built in otter switch i'm about to replace it with a 99 version which doesnt have the otter switch. Can I do away with the otter switch completely and fit the modwise 2 stage cooling conversion instead (http://www.djbeer.hostingbt.com/id27.html) ?
Many thanks.

Yes

I fitted the Kenlowe kit to mine instead ot the otter and it works fine.
Putting the probe through the radiator was a bit worrying though LOL

Thanks Jules, what Kenlowe kit did you fit?

So you put the probe through the rad rather than strap it to the bottom hose like this article is suggesting
http://www.chimaerapages.com/resources_fan.php ?

Why don't you just get the swirl pot fixed? I can't see that being too difficult. If you later fit an aftermarket ECU you can use that to switch the fans on instead. cheers.

Could do but thought the switch next to the manifold was a bad idea which is why TVR moved it. Also, I thought the ECU used the temperature switch on the engine?

You can use an output on the (aftermarket) ECU that is switched on engine temperature to control the fans - that's how I have mine set up...

I used this one:

Easy to fit and set up.... I just HATED inserting the probe (if you'll pardon the expression)

Thanks Jules, prefer the look of that one to the modwise although inserting the probe might bring tears to my eyes eek !
