Sorry for the flurry of questions but I need to make sure I get this right otherwise there could be problems!

I need to know which way the hub nub goes on the front hub ie - tightens or loosens in the direction of travel

In this pic which is my current setup the rotation of wheel is clockwise and is tightening the hub nut by the friction of the washer underneath it.

Is this right?!?

Obviously the other way it would loosen in the direction of travel but I read somewhere that braking force is always greater.....

Confused! confused

Can't remember what the fronts were but one thing they are stupidly tight, there tight to about 250ft lb so need more to release so unless you have a bolted down vice and bench and a long bar you'll struggle.

Near side has a blue threaded hub nut and does up normally ie right hand thread no washers,
Offside has a green threaded Hub nut and has a left hand thread
Although there is a splined washer which would have come from the original hubs, same size as the bearings and about 3 mm thick
