I'm feeling a bit pleased with myself, as i have just succeeded where two experts have given up....

My Chim had a poorly fitting passenger door - the bottom rear stuck out by maybe half an inch from the rear wing. After much thinking, fiddling around, I have solved it.

If bottom rear corner is sticking out proud, the solution must be to pack out the front, top hinge. Tried a couple of thick washers first, but nearly drove myself crazy trying to line it up (it drops as soon as you loosen the top bolts) and there was no real inprovement. Today, I hit on using a piece of scrap perspex I happened to have lying around to space it. Its 5 to 6mm thick, I cut a piece to size, loosened the bolts and dropped it between hinge and car body. Almost immediately, virtually a perfect fit, and a bit of adjustment later, done. The bottom rear lines up so that there is no interruption of that beautiful classic line.

Anyone with a similar problem, I have a couple of bits of perspex left if anybody wants them.
