First Epic Chimaera Journey
Discussion
In the past 48 hours I've driven from London to Grasmere via Leeds, and back - including detours a comfortable 600 miles. All in a 1996 Chimaera I paid £7.5k for three weeks ago. It's averaged about 26mpg, been massively comfortable and not missed a beat. When I got out the other end I felt wide awake.
I loved it anyway for its country lane prowess, but it turns out it's an awesome motorway car too. Not sure I'd do it again as its hard to justify the cost when you have a diesel sat there.
I thought I'd only keep the car for six months, but I think if anybody tried to take it off me now, I'd kick them in the knackers.

It's true - these cars do make really good GT cruisers for covering long distances, as well as being B-road bruisers when you want them to be. I have often got out at the end of a long journey and been surprised at how fresh I still feel, and SWMBO says the same thing as a passenger.
