Can anyone tell me if that one chip is all that differs between the 400, 450 and 500 engine ECUs?

i.e. can I just remove the one chip over from a corroded 450 ECU and fit this into a working 400 ECU to run the 450 engine?

Does that make sense? Hope so.

Yes, as long as the dates on the ECU are later than around 1992 when the circuit boards changed.
