anyone know this one ?

i spoke to Phil Phedonos about it today actually
from what he said it does seems sound but very tatty - lots an lots of stonechips, some small paint cracks, the area of paint where he thinks it was damaged is possibly now showing signs, the seats need attention (not ripped, but cracks to the leather), dash veneer cracked, no sign of anything in the history about a cam change (and after whats happened to the guy with the red 450 recently that could be a concern)
taking that all into account plus its adverse history and well im not sure id say its very cheap.
you need to allow 30 - 40% off the price of a similar example with no adverse history.
so call it 35% for these purposes and that puts it at a value of £10,750 if it didnt have bad history.
theres better examples in the classifieds for that sort of £££ (or less)
what it would get you is a decent project - just remember anything you put into a car with adverse history will always have less of a return than a regular car.

I think they're a recognised TVR dealer and would likely be mor careful about what they sell in comparison to the garage forecourt type.
Waxoil doesn't necessarily a cover-up and is a good way of preserving the chassis from the inevitable rot. It has been used for many years with good effect. I think we're spoilt by all the lovely restored chassis we see on PH. It may not be pristine white zinc and powder coated, but it may be good.
There have been some changes. Black dials aren't the norm for this car I don't think. They should be white. Either way, it is a Cat C, which could be heavy fibreglass damage at some point. Check out the history and ensure it has all the necessary certificates to ensure road worthiness etc. It would be a least worth a look.

he also said someone flying over from France tonight to view it first thing in the morning and bringing cash with them.
I have to say Phil seems a genuine guy on the phone (and from other threads) so if he gave french bloke the same description he gave me and frenchy then knows its issues, well I suspect it will be sold by mid morning tomorrow.

Didn't think they could register a 500 in France?
why not Chris ?edit.
a bit of websearching and i found someone with a 1995 500 who had issues registering it - and it appears (my french isnt great) that the type approval certificate for france is possibly 1997 onwards

I grant you that it looks nice, from what you can see of it, but the photos and description don't really give much detail.Gassing Station | Chimaera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
