Started the car for the first time today with new 30lb Bosch fuel injectors fitted. Started first time but was running very rich, off the scale on the Lambda even though the engine seemed to be idling and revving well. I'd already adjusted the fuel requirement setting in the ECU for the higher capacity injectors but Tried reducing this further which made the engine run worse and didn't affect the Lambda reading. Shut down at this point due to the strong smell of fuel.

Removed the plugs and cylinder 8 was very wet and didn't look like it had been firing. So suspected a stuck open injector.

So far checked the following:
Injector resistances all reading 16.7 ohms
Coil packs working
Spark OK

If the injector is reading the same resistance as all the others is it still possible that it is sticking open?

only other thing I can think of is a short in the the Injector wiring. Couldn't find anywhere selling a Noid Light kit so wondered if there was another way to test for this.

If your running banked/grouped injection then just swap the plug from the nearest cylinder (same bank) and see if you can move the fault to another cylinder then you can pin point the true culprit wink a jammed/sticky injector does not change in resistance nerd

Never thought of that. Always assumed that the injectors would open at different times on each cylinder, but looking at the wiring diagram that clearly isn't possible. will check to see if the plug will reach.

Definitely appears to be the injector sticking open.

Removed the inejctor and it was still open. gave it a few taps with a screw driver and it closed.
Tested it by plugging in the electrical connector and switching on the ignition (with the fuel relay removed) and the injector opened but didn’t close again.

Major PITA as I had the car booked in for a mapping session tomorrow and I doubt I'll be able to get a replacement Injector in time.
