That'll be engine mount again for sure. Be carefull the belt pulley doesn't damage the alloy coolant tank 'neck' where it passes over on the passenger side. The engine can lift enough for it to touch. yes

The gearbox mounts are quite robust.

You'll have to get under and gently jack the box to check.

Yes but the wrong ones can be easily fitted by mistake ..There are two types.

http://www.sc-power.co.uk/pages/sc-power-engine-mounts.html

The early versions of this mount had a bad reputation for melting.

With resistance to high temperature being the very thing they claimed to improve, the fact they melted must have been a significant embarrassment.

It seems clear they weren't tested thoroughly enough, which for me brings the quality control of their other products into question.

About a year or so ago an attempt was made to resolve the melting issue by switching to a different compound, a lot of play is made of this compound originating from Formula One Racing, which sounds sexy hehe....

The idea of creating a better engine mount for our cars is a good one, in theory the removal of strain on the mount and making them more resistant to high temperatures are just what we need.

However, with the early failures I remain to be convinced, even by the new super duper F1 compound.

If I was going to pay £93.78 for a pair of engine mounts yikes, I'd want to be 100% sure they make a massive improvement and will last for many many years without melting or failing.

In their defence the new compound version hasn't been out long, but I've not read a single review of these Gucci engine mounts yet.

I for one will be hanging onto my better quality originals for as long as they continue to hold together, removing the cats will almost certainly extend their life.

Keeping an eye on fixing security is also part of my maintenance schedule, as I've already found one very loose engine mount bolt since buying the car, it looked like the centre of a NyLock nut had partially melted.

I encourage some honest feedback from users of these new compound mounts, it would help us all.

Until then I remain to be convinced rolleyes

One thing is for sure though, the regular mounts out there at the moment are absolute rubbish.

Can you change the engine mounts easily? How do you support the engine whilst changing them? I was looking at the one on the passenger side and wondering whether it could do with replacing.

Ive ordered uprated ones from racetech direct, anyone tried them?

I suppose using an enginejack or a boom lift is the best way to change them... or hold engine up with one hand while fitting with the other cool

Ok got the car up today to fit the new uprated engine mounts from racetec (they are not the SC ones)

Turns out my old mounts wasnt that bad, it was just that the 2 of the 3 bolts that hold the mounting bracket to the block WAS MISSING eekyikes and the third bolt was very loose... I was so lucky to spot this in time! Now sorted and feels much tighter cool
