The great battery debate
Discussion
I have an early chimp which needs the smaller size battery etc
Just nipped out and got a high power 075 with over 600 cranking Amps, 4 year guarentee which fits snug in the battery box for a mere £54
Compared to Halfords offerings it kicks ass
And so ends the lesson for the day.......

Another lesson..... I had problems with my earlier 92 Chimp. If I left it more than 5 days it'd be flat, and we all know how easy it is to jump start the bu**ers! After several trips to the main dealer and new starter etc took it to my local trusty backstreet chap. He informed me that whlie the battery was pumping out loads of ergs (stop me if I get too technical!) only a fraction was making it to the starter! Turns out that when a battery is being charged it releases gases that are heavier than air and are also metal corrosive. Due to the difficulty getting to the battery apparently what some people do is charge it through the cigarette lighter in situ. The gases leak and fall onto... the fuse box. Anyway, one new fuse box later and the Chimp was like new, weeks untouched she'd roar into life first time.
