Chimaera immobiliser fault

A search of the site comes up with a number of immobiliser issues where the immobiliser light won't stop flashing. However my 1997 Chimaera immobiliser light isn't flashing at all but the immobiliser appears to be fixed on. Plipping the key fob doesn't activate the fuel pump so I'm stuck. :-(
The spare fob is the same, and I've disconnected the battery for 30 mins but it didn't reset. NB. The immobiliser "key" stopped functioning years ago but the key fob has been fine up till now.
Any ideas? Or any recommendations for a mobile auto electrician with TVR experience in the Stockport area?
