Sorry, just had to share this....
Only had the car since July. Just been out for "blat" around where I live...roof down, heater on, after dark...absolutely amazing!! There's nothing quite like it is there? Not even driving especially fast, but just the acceleration, cornering and sound!!! Woohoo!! Still buzzing from it!
Don't mind these dark evenings, as long as it stays dry all winter!

Know what you mean! Don't want to be a wet blanket but don't be carried away by the "cornering". The car has no LSD and understeers dramatically if you push too hard. Discovered this the hard way with my 500.

No LSD?
Limited Slip Differential---which is why the typical rally type car like an Imprezza will leave a TVR in its wake on the S-bends---BUT not on the straights.

OK OK Whatever you call it---I mean the gizmo which compensates for different wheel speeds when cornering--if the Scooby has this then it certainly works because I was behind one on a twisty road and no way could I hold him---kept on catching up on the straights and losing out on the bends---but then if I'm honest perhaps I'm just an unskilled driver.
Then again perhaps it was a rally tuned Scooby---made one hell of a racket now I come to think of it--makes me feel better if that was the case.

I said `No LSD?` because I thought there must have been a model without one if you know what I mean. I have no doubt that mine has one as it likes to snake it`s arse on bone dry tarmac.

So, which rear lights do you reckon look the biz at night - the originals, upgrades or afterburners? The Fiesta ones are rather mean-looking I have to say! But, as usual, I'm undecided as to which type I prefer.
Have been thinking about that myself, as always thought the newer style ones looked pretty cool. Not keen on the afterburner style ones. To be honest, I don't think I'd change mine as think a Chim should be left as it was meant to be. Start changing things and could find yourself heading down the Max Power road!
But having said all that, I haven't seen any others apart from mine at night.....what are yours like?

I did seek the opinions of other PH'ers a little while ago regarding afterburners:

But I still have the originals (Fiesta) in situ and, as you say, a Chim should be left as it was meant to be! It's saved me a few hundred pounds which I'd rather spend on keeping Trev's performance up to scratch.

Wow that was a long thread! Too late to read it all now...
Did you change the indicators in the end? I considered getting clear ones, but think i'll leave them be for now. Like you say, spend the money on essentials instead. Same goes for the wheels - sometimes i think they look kinda small, but again...if it ain't broke....
Edited to say...that last thread seemed to be more about your bum than your rear lights....caused quite a stir it seems....

I've just read it again myself! However, there were some valid comments, ie, the general consensus being that afterburners look better on the darker coloured Chims than lighter ones. But my Chim is neither dark/light so I couldn't decide whether they would look right. I saved my money instead!
Regarding clear -v- orange front/side repeaters, I think the clear lenses look more up-to-date but the contrast of the orange ones against the blue shade of my Chim does look quite good IMHO. I do have a thread on this but perhaps I'd better not refer you to it!

Keep em original I think - mine's blue too, and the orange looks OK.
