On a whim. Just for fun. I've totted up how much I've spent on beastie since December 2010. Actually I did this about an hour ago, and the shock has only just worn off sufficiently to allow me to use the keyboard. I've decided to get some counselling. Maybe one of these group therapy sessions. Writing about it doesn't seem to help. I know I have to stop, but I can't help it. Talking about shock, I need to start thinking about suspension upgrades. There. I'ts started again.

I reckon I have pent about 7 which is what I bought the car for in the first place!

Shouldn't I have 2 cars then?

I'm £5.5k in and I only bought the car in Dec 2012!

Other than the MK3 headlight conversion, there is no labour in that figure, I've managed to do it myself.

Best not to add these things up. Just think of the fun you have with it. First time I thought about selling the Stag, I was shocked at some of the numbers spent on it.

Why did I have the diff, gearbox, engine and interior overhauled after the first count up....

Its only money!!!! You cant take it with you. Cant think of a better way to spend it to be honest.

Mine goes for mapping next week after the new ecu install. I have promised myself after that no more until after the summer is over. I am just going to drive it. Spanners are going to be under lock and key. Well thats the plan anyway.

Oh you fool!

You mad ... sad ... crazy b*st*rd of a fool.

Cars are like women ... never count what they cost you or remember the grief that they give you or you'll go insane. Just enjoy the good hard rides that you have together. hehe

(I'm up to £3k just in parts on my spread sheet of "jobs I want to do this year" for mine...)

I try not to think about it, she's worth every single penny cloud9

Unfortunately on my Credit Card bill there is a field that tells me my cashback earned, £40 on 1% cashback eek

But I have to agree with what other people have already said, it's only money and I do not want to be the richest corpse in the graveyard biggrin

I'm in for £4.5k and bought the car 1st March this year.

I've owned the car 8 weeks 5 days (yes I am counting) but it's been in the garage for the past 6 weeks of those.

Current estimates of when it will come back to me is end of next week but I'm on a residential training course all of next week and not sure I'll be able to pick it up until the following week.

When I do get it back, you can be sure of rain....

Between the Chim and the Tuscan I've spent an absolute fortune in the last few months, and I still haven't driven either of them! Hoping to get at least one of them back soon!

i'll be around 16k at the end of the month (not including the 8.5 i bought her for). this includes a full body of chassis refurb, new cam, clutch, re-spray and lots of other new bits. when i look at how much ive spent it could have been a deposit on a house rather than a bit of fun every now and then.

As long as we're not including petrol in this I think I'm doing fine. I suspect I've spent ~£500 since October 2012 when I bought the car, so I'm in for around £6800 give or take... Add fuel and I'm probably in the £10k region LOL.

Going to get the S sorted this weekend and then put it on the classifieds once I find the time to take it for an MOT, I suspect I'll get most of my money back on that though as I got it cheap and the sun is out now LOL
