It was all going too well. Fitted ACT superflare trumpets to my 450, bit of fun getting the old ones out but all went smoothly, new ones in, until refitting. What I didnt notice as I went round to the offside to tighten plenum bolts was the Throttle Potentiometer was trapped between rocker cover and plenum inlet. F*** it, anyway released it but didnt notice small dent in back of throttle pot until I started engine only for MIL light to shine bright and rough idle etc. Checked all other leads at injectors etc all looks ok.
OK I thought little electrical component get a new one! Huh can only find one parts supplier selling at £185 ex VAT and thats discounted. B******srage So can anyone help point me in another direction/supplier or have one knocking about they want rid of?. Serpentine engine. What an arse!

Hope youve all had a better day.

Do you know the Lucas part number (it should be on it).

Is it this one:

(Lucas 215SA) or is that the pre-serp one?

ETA - THIS IS INDEED A PRE-SERP ONE..

Yes its a 215SA although I think the one you've found may be pre serp??. The key difference is the serp one (mine) has 2 screw holes not slots as it doesnt need adjusting and a different oval type connector.

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs or anything but have you tested the "broken" one to see what voltages you're getting across the pins and the full sweep from ~0 to ~5V as it opens?

Given how expensive they now are (and seemingly rare) that'd be worth a shot...

There are some very basic parameters needed for the throttle pot- its degrees of sweep, its total resistance, and the rate of change (if its logarithmic or linear - I suspect its Linear.) The rest is just down to its physical fitment onto the throttle shaft and where the mounting holes are spaced. Its a very basic device. As these items are become a major problem price wise, I think someone needs to speak to these guys who produce a whole range of units.
