Since the pump install I get a loud buzz sound just below quarter of a tank ,the return is flying round and some flow rate ,I`m wondering if its just swirling the bottom of the tank up !

Is there any way to stop this ..Maybe is to large a pump for the job !

Obviously too much fuel is returning to the tank, the best cure for this is to put down your right foot to divert excess flow into the engine.

Considering these pumps are good for 600bhp why did you fit one?

Edit. Unless you've got huge future plans scratchchin

Typically you would fit a swirl pot between the tank & pump, then pipe the FPR return to the swirl tank wink

Packaging that would be a challenge, probably easier to have the fuel tank modified...

Sounds over complicated Dave, is that necessary on a road car?

Shirley the standard pump can handle 350 bhp?

My fuelling curve for 323 horses is flat at a little over 13 AFR so I assume the pump can easily handle that?

Not normally needed, just for extreme pumps where the return will be enormous when the engine is unloaded. Typical of the problems you create when poorly specifying parts, biggest is not always best wink It was tongue in cheek at how you would solve the problem for a car that really needed fuel for 500+bhp hehe

I think just saying the fuel pump is too big is a bit of a non answer... I've run one on my Chim for years (as have many others) with no problems at all. They're a simple, reliable upgrade which ensures you'll have plenty of fuel for higher power applications. Given that so many of them work find in TVRs, I would suggest something on your setup is amiss. Can't think what off the top of my head, but its certainly a tried and tested upgrade and having run one myself for yonks, I can't say that the problems you're having are normal.

[quote=SILICONEKID350HP]The old pump was finished so I thought It would be a good upgrade .. Blown through the return its nice and free ,it must be picking all the dirt from the bottom of the tank ..

Pity there not adjustable..

What does the standard pump max out at and what is the part number ?

Just removed the return and managed to fill a 5l can in a matter of seconds ,do I need that type of flow for 350hp?

the important thing is the flow under pressure, not free flow

but that pump will support far more flow (at pressure) than you need

Blown through all the pipes ,flow and return ,everything is free.I`m trying to make a decision if to fit a genuine Bosch OE standard pump ..

Need to find out if it will support 350hp and cure the problem..

After disconnecting the return and sticking a length of hose to the petrol can I was amazed how much it was flowing ..At a quarter of a tank it must be causing avoc in the petrol tank..

Cheers the 044 pump delivers 198/L Hour at 3bar The cerbera pump delivers 128/ Hour at 3 bar which can cope with 450hp.

What can the standard one deliver..Found this part number but can not find any data Bosch 058046008.

Are you fitting something to stop the problem I have ..like another small tank or something
