Having been on a few runs recently I am happy with the tone and noise levels of my car however want more pops etc. on the over run.

Is there a sure fire way to get this without necessarily increasing overall volume?

Hi, If you feather the throttle on the over run then you should get more popping and banging.

If it isnt doing it, you will need a bit of a remap to make it happen.

Here here!

I bought my car with the standard exhaust and almost immediately had it sleeved - the pops and bangs are now so much better/louder but only seem to happen when feathering the throttle...

I took the car out one day and for about an hour or so it unexplainably popped and banged wonderfully on overrun without feathering - I guess something (throttle) got stuck although it still idled perfectly.

Which screw needs to be turned to get it crackling?!

the fun begins when you remove the cats.... therefore you should just semisleeve not full sleeve, cause it gets too loud otherwise.

I find that different brands of petrol can make a big difference to the pops and bangs. Sometimes I might stick 20 quid in it somewhere and suddenly it sounds different.

I've been waffling about this on another thread, long story short I'll take that advice and start with de cat Y. I think the sound sleeved sounded better but I'll know more on Thursday as a mate is going to fiddle about with it.

Can someone explain why we feel such joy and excitement at these flaming pops and bangs! Wisdom says grow up you dhead, the rest of me which is about 97 % says oh yeah baby. What's wrong with us. It's the dramatics of the thing I suppose, like a proper Tvr should sound maybe takes over, what knackered! Lol

Nope! I do it too...but then I think that all I've done is rewarded them with the glorious noise of a TVR under load...and that won't make them learn, it'll encourage them.

Note to self: Buy a whopping great train horn.
